Case study

Ari Bhattacharjee's real estate website now searches 50,000+ San Diego homes

Ari runs a deliberately small roster out of Coldwell Banker West, and he wanted a site that stood for that rather than hiding it. We built it with him over three weeks, in his words, then wired a live IDX to it so buyers search thousands of San Diego homes on his own domain instead of a portal that resells the lead.

How it was built

Built with him, not handed to him

Ari did not want a template with his name swapped in, and he was willing to do the work to avoid one. The build ran as a back and forth: we drafted, he reacted, we rewrote.

What came out is a site shaped by how he actually practises. His selective roster, his same-day callback standard, and the five submarkets he genuinely covers are the structure of the site rather than claims printed on top of it.

His words, not ours

Every headline went back to him until it sounded like something he would actually say on a call.

Reviewed in passes

Draft, react, rebuild. The homepage went several rounds before either of us signed off on it.

Built on his practice

A selective roster and a same-day callback are the site's structure, not a tagline sitting on top of it.

Nothing templated

No stock agent layout with his name dropped in. The page order came out of how he actually works.

The IDX

Home search, unlocked.

Most agent sites send a serious buyer to Zillow, and that portal resells the lead to three other agents. Ari's does not. The search lives on aribrealty.com, synced from the MLS.

A buyer can filter by his five submarkets, save a search, and book a tour without ever leaving his site, and every enquiry reaches him alone.

50,000+ listings

The full county inventory, live on his domain and refreshed continuously.

His leads, not a portal's

Enquiries route to him alone instead of being resold to competing agents.

Five submarkets, saved

Encinitas to 4S/Del Sur, each a one-tap search rather than a static page.

Search to booked tour

A buyer goes from filtering homes to a scheduled showing without leaving.

Every page, on purpose

Every page designed for a reason

Nothing here is a stock template with his name dropped in. Each page was laid out around one visitor at one moment: the buyer who has never done this, the seller weighing a number, the person who just wants an honest read before deciding anything.

On top of that, Clozma writes and publishes two posts a month in his voice. Notes from the Field answers the questions that come up on his calls, which keeps the site earning search traffic without costing him an evening.

Buy with me

The whole buying process, four steps to the key, in plain English rather than jargon.

Sell with me

Priced on evidence, prepped where it pays, and every showing attended by him personally.

Notes from the field

Two posts a month answering the questions that actually come up on his calls.

The Bhattacharjee Standard

Four promises in writing, which is the entire trust argument in a single section.

"We worked together on this until the site actually felt like mine, not a template with my name swapped in. Clozma stayed on it with me, and now it is the first thing I send, doing the talking before I ever do."

Time to launch

Three weeks from the first call to a live site

Custom does not have to mean slow. The reviews ran in tight passes, so nothing sat waiting on a week-long approval cycle.

Week 1

The working session

How he runs his practice, which five submarkets he actually covers, and the things he refuses to do. The page order came out of that call rather than a template.

Week 1–2

Voice and structure

A first copy pass in his words, sent back for reaction line by line. He cut what did not sound like him, and we rewrote until it did.

Week 2–3

Design and build

The pine and cedar identity, the condensed display type, and eight-plus pages built out — each reviewed with him before it was called done.

Week 3

Live, then kept moving

Domain, analytics, SEO, and the blog engine running twice a month. The IDX went in behind it, wiring 50,000+ listings to his own domain.

He publishes without writing

Two new posts go up every month in his voice, so the site keeps earning search traffic without costing him an evening.

Copy refreshed
New section
Listings synced

It still gets changed

The build did not end at launch. Copy, sections, and listings keep moving as his practice does.

It is the first thing I send now. Someone can search every home in the county on my own site, read how I actually work, and book me, before we have ever spoken.
